Brethren:
It is June. We are halfway through this Masonic Year. As the weather gets
warm we are switching to casual wear in the lodge for the next few stated
meetings. No Jeans and T-Shirts please, but coat and tie will not be required.
We have accomplished much this year so far, and hope to accomplish even
more by the end of the year.
Your officers are to be commended for their advancement in proficiency
with the lodge ritual. With the exception of the Senior Warden, Treasurer,
and myself we have an entirely new line of officers. All have done well
in memorizing their parts and jumping in to help where needed. The lodge
is moving forward. We are distributing some of the load that was being
shouldered by Wor. Brian Galusha and Brother Jeff Galusha has jumped in
with both feet and is doing well. Thank you for your patience during this
time of transition.
Our communication plan had been put in place by our Communication Committee.
We are embracing the current standards of technology with our email system
and online resources while remembering to also reach those who are not
yet served in this fashion. We are doing this with our new quarterly publications
for our out of area members and widows, and our telephone message system
for those without email. The committee has also established a backed-up,
secure, shared storage location for our important documents and member
databases. Our website is up to date and being actively maintained and
they are in the process of automating dues and scholarship donations online.
Look for this and other expansions to the website to include lodge history
and past masters pages in the near future.
We have had our first batch of mentored candidates through our degrees.
The first MM will be on Thursday the 4th. Our next 3 EAs will begin on
June 25th. I am charging all Master Masons; If you have not yet been to
3 of each degree, then you owe your lodge attendance at every degree within
the length of your cable tow until you have.
Our Activities Committee has put on several worthwhile events that have
been enjoyed immensely by those who attended. It is a great thing to get
to know each other outside of the lodge room. It is nice to get our families
involved in the lodge that is so important to us. I encourage everyone
to make an effort to attend the picnic this month. It promises to be a
great event. Brother John Smith has done a wonderful job in chairing this
committee.
As a final thought this month I again ask those of you who have not purchased
a life membership in perpetuity. Why not? I would ask every brother to
seriously consider it. We have presented three of these so far in the
first half of this year. Don’t wait. We can still reach a goal of 75%
of the lodge as LMIPs.
Thank you brethren for making the task of running this lodge run as smooth
as it has so far this year. We have had some serious challenges and continue
to face them.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Edwin D Morman
